Electrospinning is a beneficial and effective technology to produce continuous nanofibers by electric force. According to the mechanism of the electrospinning process, the basic electrospinning setup contains a high-voltage system, spinneret, and collector [1]. We used this technique to prepare nanopolymeric absorbent of a blend of Poly dimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and poly styrene (PS). Poly dimethylsiloxane is one of the most popular absorbent because of its enhanced solute diffusion capabilities. But this material cannot be electrospun under normal conditions [2] because of its low glass transition temperature. In this work, fine morfology of PDMS in its blends with poly styrene, which can be electrospun easily, were prepared via electrospinning process. These nanopolymers were collected on a stainless steel sheet as an electrospinning collector. The important parameters affecting the morphology of electrospun nanofibers were investigated. Characteristics of the fibers were inspected by Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDAX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).
