Graphene-hematite hybrid nanostructure synthesized through the solution processing of precursors. Then prepared films treated using ammonia in the sealed flask at 180C. SEM micrographs manifest the formation of nanosized hematite on the graphene sheets. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms show high surface size, which indicates the formation of the nanosized features of the graphene nanosheets and iron oxide. Raman spectra infer the hematite formation due to ammonia meditated heat treatment in the graphene oxide sheets. This morphology is beneficial in many applications, including the Li-ion battery area. Moreover, the high specific surface area fosters properties that are necessary for this area.
