Graphene nanosheets can be obtained via electrical flash synthesis by applying a high amount of energy in a very short pulse. In this research, direct synthesize of graphene nanosheets is performed by electrical flash discharge method within less than 10 microsecond. A variety of materials could be used as precursor to be converted to graphene including black carbon and active carbon. Other carbon sources which are conductive can be used for this method. Different variables including voltage, dissipated energy, flash time, temperature, mass and resistivity of the precursor and cooling rate could affect the properties of the final product. Based on first steps of experimental work, we discuss about how these variables affect the method and how they are correlated to each other. Possessing few number of layers with high mismatch is much easier to be exfoliated in comparison to stacked graphene.
