Tissue engineering is a modern and multidisciplinary field in the sciences which can address many of the deficiency in medical disorders. One of the important issues in tissue engineering is the differentiation of stem cells which play a vital role in the regeneration of tissue . These methods are generally based on the chemical combination and differentiation media. Chemical methods are created from differentiation materials and factors. Generally, chemical methods and special differentiation media have been widely used in the field of differentiation, but there are some problems in this method. These problems can include an expiry date, cost of material, availability and also high sensitivity to the concentration with adding differentiation factors. The aim of this study is investigating the effects of various factors in electrical current on neural differentiation of stem cells. We prepared a conductive scaffold from carbon nanofiber and designed a structure in order to transmit electric current, which could be autoclaved and show good efficiency. It is noteworthy that we have not used any differentiation medium in this method and the differentiation occurred due to the electric current which has been applied to the scaffold. We have assessed all current factors which can affect the differentiation process such as current intensity, frequency, wave-form, daily duration of electric shock, duration of electric shock and duty cycle to differentiate stem cells into neurons without differentiation media. During this processwe selected the optimal factors for the electric shock and also observed up to 25-fold differentiation into nerve cells.
