A new biomimetic sensor was prepared on carbon paste electrode (CPE) with magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP). MMIP with high recognition for rutin was synthesized based on Fe3O4@PANI/rGO nanocomposite with excellent core-shell structure. The ternary nanocomposites were obtained by chemical oxidative polymerization and intercalation of Fe3O4 and polyaniline (Fe3O4@PANI) into the graphene oxide (GO) in the presence of hydrazine hydrate. MIP formation process was as follows, rutin as template molecule, Fe3O4@polyaniline/reduce graphene oxide (Fe3O4@PANI/rGO) nanocomposite as functional monomer and pyrrole as both cross-linker and co-monomer. Next, a CPE was filled with a piece of neodymium-iron-boron magnet to make magnetic electrode (MCPE), and MMIP/MCPE sensor was obtained by attaching a printed polymer to the surface of the electrode under the strong magnetic. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were employed to characterize the fabricated sensor. The experimental parameters, such as effect of pH and the mass ratio for the sensor preparation were optimized. Due to the stable molecular structure of the electrode surface, the sensor is highly effective and accurate for detection of rutin using CV.
