Abstract: Antibacterial agents play essential tasks in protecting human health through curing infectious diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria. Besides, silver nanoparticles are well known for antibacterial killing so widely used in medical devices. Hence, broad studies were being focused on the synthesis methods of colloidal silver nanoparticles (without oxidation). In this research, the silver nanoparticles colloid and partial-oxidation colloid were synthesized by chemical reduction under ultrasonic-assisted for evaluation of their antibacterial properties. The bacteria elimination of Escherichia coli (gram-positive) and S.aureus (gram-negative) have been studied by colloidal silver nanoparticles-partial oxidation (SNPO), then the results have been compared with colloidal silver nanoparticles (SN). The synthesized colloids were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV-spectroscopy. The antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles was found to be dependent on the oxidation quantity. The results have illustrated the oxidation makes soar the antibacterial activities.
