In this manuscript, an electrochemical sensor was developed to determine piroxicam (PX) based on their enhanced electrochemical response at the Polypyrrole/CuO nanoparticle film modified nano-porous gold film (NPGF) electrode. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential voltammetry (DPV) were used to investigate their electrochemical behavior. The experimental result showed that PX exhibited an oxidation peak at 0.65 V in pH=8; and the results from DPV technique were linearly affiliate on PX concentration in the ranges of 0.05-30µM with a coefficient of 0.9905, and in the range of 50.0 – 300.0 µM with a correlation coefficient of 0.9927; and with a detection limit of 0.01 µM. Furthermore, this proposed electrode remarkably shows stability, good repeatability, selectivity and rapid response. The suggested sensor is also used to determine PX in pharmaceutical sample.
